The Different RBA Tanks
There are a few different types of tanks you can use on your device (MOD) or if you don’t know what I mean “e-cigarette atomizers” is what I’m referring to. Like the RBA, RDA, RTA. I will explain each of these here so you will understand what each one does and how they perform.
RBA (Rebuildable Atomizer)
An RBA simply means rebuildable atomizer. It the same thing as an RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer) It was the first rebuildable tank when it came out back in the day. It was simple but there was a lot more going on behind the design.
By looking at it you wouldn’t think there was much to it. You’d be wrong, the size and shape made a big difference in its performance, like flavor and cloud production. Even the terminal placement and the size of the terminals, right down to the spacing can make a major impact on its performance. Some of the rebuildable atomizers use a different coil setup that can completely change the performance in flavor and cloud output.
The Two Post Deck
The original two post deck was a great experience for your rebuildable deck when it first came out compared to the new designs of today. The two post decks were designed for a single coil that could only fit up to a 28g wire. That’s really small compared to the complicated builds you see today. And the center post (The positive post) centered in the middle of the deck making it imposable to make a large or long coil builds.
In conclusion, an RBA is a deck with a positive and negative post or posts that you can anchor your own coils on to. (Better known as “Builds”)
RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer)
An RDA is an RBA of today, with a deck and a positive and negative post or posts that you can anchor your coils to and provide power from a battery that will heat up the coils and turn vaporize the e-liquid on the wicks. The deck will have a cover or Top cap covering the coils. It can be screwed on or slipped on over gaskets or “O” rings. In most opinions, it can produce the best flavor. It’s my personal favorite. Below, in my opinion, is an excellent RDA. The Goon LP (Low Profile). The deck just looks classy. 24 carrot gold goodness.

Below, in my opinion, is an excellent RDA. The Goon LP (Low Profile). The deck just looks classy. And because of its low profile can produce incredible flavor very accurately. And it is 24 carrot gold helps it conduct cleaner. And it looks damn good!
RDA’s are designed to drip you e-liquid over the coils and wick then vaped. An RDA doesn’t hold much e-liquid but some RDA’s will come with a small reservoir holding about 1ml of e-liquid. RDA’s are held high in the vaping community due to their vapor and flavor output. Out of all the different types of tanks, the RDA is the best when it comes to flavor and vapor output.
RDA’s can put out an amazingly large amount of vapor especially when a custom designed coil is installed just for producing large amounts of vapor. These types of coils are built with a resistance of (0.05-0.02Ω) and they can take up to 100+ watts.
RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) All so known as a Sub Ohm Tanks.
AN RTA is a rebuildable deck with a positive and negative post that you anchor your coils to that is surrounded by a sealed chambered cover and the e-liquid reservoir surrounds it. The chamber has a chimney that directs the vapor to the drip tip. Gravity and pressure force the e-liquid through the small openings in the chamber exposing the wicks as they get saturated with e-liquid and delivered to the coils and vaporized.
Like I’ve said before I’m an RDA fan but recently I purchased a Sub Ohm tank only because of the hype it had. And I’m really glad I did. I got the SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King. You can check out a review I did on it here.
I believe the flavor is so good because of their massive replacement coils. Their coils are 20mm compared to a typical 13mm coil used in other sub ohm tanks. This larger size allows it to have a larger coil and much more air flow. And pushes the wattage up to a whopping 300 watts.
I was amazed at the flavor it produced. And you cloud chasers will love love love it. You can buy it here at my favorite online vape store VaporDNA. Right now there running a sale on it for $29.95 and that’s a great deal!
There are other very good sub ohm tanks like the Sense Blazer 200 and the Wismec Reux, Aspire Cleito 120, Horizontech Arctic V12, Eleaf Melo 300, Joyetech Ornate, and last but not least the iJoy Maxo V12
All of these are in the same category as the SMOK TFV12.
All of these are highly recommended. And you can see a really good review on YouTube here by “Suck My Mod” He go’s over all of these sub ohm tanks in detail.
The difference between an RDA and an RTA is the tank. An RTA you don’t need to drip e-liquid onto the coils and wicks.
My intention here is not to sell you these products but to let you know what I feel is a very good quality great experience and perform excellently.
